      It all started 25 years ago in a little building in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where Bob Scherer worked for a company called Shakstads. Shakstads was an electric motor service company, and as we all know, roller mills have some fairly large electric motors on them. As a service to their electric motor customers, Shakstads started sharpening mill rolls for them. That went on for about 15 years, when they approached Bob and wanted to sell that portion of the business to him. He moved the business down to the industrial park near Tea, SD in a small, dimly lit, cold building that smelled like burning corn. We soon grew out of that facility and moved 1/2 mile south from there into our current, state of the art facility. We are able to offer you the most advanced technology in roll corrugation, and fabrication of both white chilled cast iron and hardened steel.
